ConFabCafé Creative Placemaking Grant

The ConFabCafé Creative Placemaking Grant is offered by the Ginsberg Center and ArtsEngine to support collaborative, university-community projects that stem from the Creative Placemaking ConFabCafé. Grants up to $1,000 per year are offered, though additional funds may be awarded for projects with unusual scope and increased community benefit. This grant is offered on a rolling basis. Applicants will be contacted within 2 weeks of application submission with either a review committee decision or requests for additional information.

a2ru Student Travel Grant

The Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) Student Travel Grant Program is open to any undergraduate or graduate student currently attending an a2ru partner institution, and who would like to attend either our annual a2ru conference, the Emerging Creatives Student Summit, or any other a2ru sanctioned event or workshop. Grants of up to $250 will be awarded, and may be used for any travel related expense.

a2ru Scholars Program

The Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) Scholars Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff from a2ru partner institutions from underrepresented groups with an interest in pursuing interdisciplinary study, research, and practice from partner institutions. This award is meant to defray some of the expense associated with travel, lodging, and registration to participate, present, or perform their research or practice in integrative fields int he arts at the a2ru national conference. Awards include conference registration, up to 3 nights lodging at the conference hotel, and up to $1,000 in travel expenses.

Details: Employ peer-to-peer leadership and expertise to promote student learning through the arts and instill a sense of the power of the arts to enhance understanding, build communities, and transform lives. Proposals should meet one or more of the following criteria: expose students to unfamiliar art forms and communities; create a significant impact on student life and learning at U-M; utilize the arts as means of addressing challenging topics; increase understanding of or proficiency in the arts; and involve diverse communities for cultural exchange.

Details: Excellence in Entrepreneurship, Career Empowerment & Leadership (EXCEL) catalyzes success for U-M SMTD students and alumni through co-curricular workshops, ongoing mentoring, and $100,000 in student project and venture funding.
