An interdisciplinary art exhibition, Enemies + Entities explores how media, rivalry, and coexistence connect in the digital age. This project unites visual art, media studies, and sound design to create a sensory experience that encourages audiences to reflect on how media affects identity, rivalry, and time. The project makes abstract concepts concrete by merging theoretical viewpoints with creative expression, encouraging in-depth thought and discussion. The exhibition’s prominence is primarily due to its interdisciplinary approach, which uses a variety of creative dimensions to portray the complexity of media’s influence on our lives.

This project heavily relies on the arts, utilizing soundscapes and 3D sculptures to illustrate its topics vividly. A sculpture made of countless marbles, representing the intertwined yet conflicting forces in the media world, will be one of the main exhibits. When the marbles are combined to form a larger shape, such as an hourglass, they symbolize how media entities compete for the audience’s finite time. Cybercore and electric guitar components will be included in accompanying soundscapes to reflect contemporary media’s edgy and chaotic vibe. These creative elements offer a multisensory experience that challenges viewers to consider their consumption patterns and attitudes about media-driven rivalry.

While this is a collaborative exhibition among other colleagues, I will carry out my section of this project in discrete stages throughout the following three months. I will complete my study and create the sculptures throughout the first two weeks. I’ll build my central sculpture and coordinate soundscapes between weeks three and eight. In the last few weeks, I’ll concentrate on installing the exhibition, including adjusting the lighting and presentations. We will also hold an opening event to encourage the attendees to interact with one another and the exhibited pieces. As one of the project’s creators, I will ensure that the project’s execution and vision complement its multidisciplinary objectives.

Enemies + Entities, by sparking discussions on media and its influence on daily life, aspires to leave a lasting impression on campus and the surrounding community. Visitors will depart with newfound insights into the dynamics of media entities, and the broader implications for their individual and collective identities. Moreover, by showcasing the benefits of multidisciplinary techniques, this project aims to inspire students and community members to explore the interconnectedness of art and analysis.

As a stage management major with a background in sound design and visual art, I can make this proposal a reality. My experience in production management guarantees that I can balance artistic and practical elements, and my interest in using art to explore essential subjects will drive the project to be successful. Enemies + Entities allows me to push my artistic boundaries and add to the lively, creative conversation on campus.
