UARTS Faculty Engineering/Arts Student Team (FEAST) projects invite students to engage with North Campus faculty around their research and creative production for course credit. These teams are currently recruiting students to start in Fall 2025.
Expanding Photographic Possibilities
Computer Scientist (1-2 students)
Preferred Skills:
- Writing/modifying hardware drivers using C and writing/modifying software using Python.
- Machine vision: Interpreting and mapping sensor data. Image processing.
Likely Majors/Minors: CS, ECE, SI
Looking for students with one or both of these skills.
TAIME: Trainable Accessible Musical Instruments and Environments
Machine Learning (1 student)
Preferred Skills: Practical experience with multiple approaches to machine learning, such as supervised / unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, dimensionality reduction, neural networks, deep learning; experience with real-time and/or systems.
Performing Arts and Technology (1 student)
Preferred Skills: Max MSP skills for interactive instrument design.

Abriendo Caminos: Developing Engineering Pathways
Computer Scientist (1 student)
Preferred Skills: Experience with or interest in programming for interactive applications such as video games, simulations, or educational tools. Familiarity with game development platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Godot) or languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.

Graphic Design (1 student)
Preferred Skills: Experience with Adobe Illustrator or other graphic design tools. Interest in creating visual assets for video games and educational media, including characters, backgrounds, and UI elements.

Preferred Skills: Experience working with Flask, React, Arduino, sensors and sound inputs and outputs.

Preferred Skills: Space organization, lighting, podiums, or dividers construction.

Shadow Catching

- Organizing images and ideas from our Psych + Art literature reviews into a repository that can be shuffled and reshuffled based on what lens is interesting at a given point in time.
- Creating something that has an associative structure, that can (re)LINK and (re)CLUSTER information continually.

Preferred Skills: Literature Review Skills to develop a search logic for our art + psych literature reviews and find current hybrid databases. Organize the findings into a working repository with the SI/CS person above.
